Electricity consumption in Ukraine corresponds to seasonal indicators; due to bad weather, 276 settlements in five regions remain without power, energy equipment in frontline regions has been damaged due to hostilities, and consumers in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions are without power. This was reported on Friday by NEC "Ukrenergo," writes UNN.
Blackouts
"As a result of hostilities, energy equipment in frontline regions has been damaged. As a result, consumers in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions are without power," Ukrenergo reported.
Restoration work is being carried out wherever the security situation currently allows.
"Due to difficult weather conditions (ice, strong winds) – as of morning, 276 settlements in five regions remained fully or partially without power: Odesa, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy," the report stated.
Oblenergo brigades are carrying out emergency restoration work on damaged lines.
Schedules and emergency shutdowns
"Due to previous Russian shelling – power limitation schedules for industry, as well as hourly outage schedules for all categories of consumers, are being applied in all regions of Ukraine today. At the same time, in some regions – emergency blackouts have been forcibly applied, which will be canceled immediately after the situation in the energy system stabilizes," Ukrenergo noted.
As reported by the Ministry of Energy, restoration work is ongoing at energy facilities. "Kyiv and Kyiv region continue to experience a power deficit. Since yesterday, the distribution system operator in the capital has been applying temporary schedules according to the available power capacity," the Ministry of Energy noted.
Consumption
According to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption corresponds to seasonal indicators. Today, January 30, as of 9:30 AM, its level was the same as at this time the previous day. The reason for the changes is a smaller volume of restrictions in some regions.
On January 29, the daily consumption peak was in the evening - at the same level as the previous day's peak.
"In all regions of Ukraine today, there is still a need for economical energy consumption. Please limit the use of powerful electrical appliances as much as possible. If possible, postpone energy-intensive processes to night hours - after 11:00 PM. Rational electricity consumption will contribute to a shorter duration of forced blackouts," Ukrenergo emphasized.
