The U.S. Department of Defense needs to replenish its stocks by $6.5 billion after providing assistance to Ukraine. This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to a Pentagon document sent to the US Congress, UNN reports.

Details

According to the document, dated February 24, the U.S. military, in particular, stated the need:

  • replenish stocks of GMLRS missiles for HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems for $549 million,
  • purchase TOW anti-tank systems for $348 million
  • night vision devices for $308 million.

All equipment and weapons are to be purchased from American companies located in different states. As noted, this list is only a part of the total list of $10 billion worth of weapons that the United States provided to Ukraine from its warehouses.

The Pentagon expects that these funds will be included in US President Joe Biden's supplemental request, which includes billions of dollars to help Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel.
