Zelenskiy defended Ukraine's strikes on Russian targets, saying that "Russia understands nothing but force," and Western partners should support Ukraine's response to Russian aggression.

Western partners should support Ukraine's response to Russia's aggression, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, commenting on the UN's criticism of the attack on the Russian factory producing "Shahed". He said this at a press conference with the President of Finland in Kyiv on Wednesday, April 3, UNN reports.

Asked whether Zelenskyy often talks to international partners about strikes on Russian refineries and plants, particularly in Tatarstan, Zelenskyy replied:

"Some (international organizations - ed.) are raising the issue of attacks on the refinery...Well, I can answer these organizations very simply in principle. It seems to me that in order to eventually understand how to survive in Kharkiv, how people live without electricity and water, people probably need to come and see, and then condemn something or not. To understand that Russia understands nothing but force," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He pointed out that all the condemnations of strikes on our energy sector, blackouts, undermining our infrastructure, and so on  have not led to a decrease in Russian attacks.  "This means that these people understand only one thing - that there is a powerful response. On the contrary, our Western partners should support the Ukrainian response," the President emphasized.

Commenting on the drone attack on the "Shahed" factory in Tatarstan, the UN called for an end to attacks on "civilian infrastructure."

However, it is precisely because of drone attacks on oil refineries in Russia that exports of Russian diesel fuel have significantly decreased.
