President Zelenskyy visited Kharkiv region, where he attended a presentation of the Made in Ukraine economic platform, met with local businesses, and discussed solutions to strengthen air defense and support the regional economy during the war.

The President emphasized that it is now important to strengthen air defense, restore electricity and water supply, and build bomb shelters in schools in Kharkiv region.

 The Head of State also noted that the Cabinet of Ministers should decide on compensation to Kharkiv residents and local businesses for using fuel for generators.

During the dialog with business representatives, it was discussed that the government is currently working on a number of solutions to address the situation in the region. In particular, they are considering increasing the amount of microgrants for Kharkiv region businesses from UAH 250 thousand to UAH 500 thousand.

In addition, ministries and departments were instructed to consider the possibility of providing portfolio guarantees to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Kharkiv, as well as establishing preferential tariffs for rail freight transportation from stations in the frontline areas.

The First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, noted that Kharkiv region is actively involved in government support programs.

The state budget has allocated 45 billion for all support programs under Made in Ukraine, and at least one and a half billion will be allocated to Kharkiv region. This amount is not a limit. The more actively businesses engage in support programs, the higher the amount can be. We also discussed with Kharkiv region businesses the issue of expanding localization to new product categories and giving priority to Ukrainian producers in public procurement. We have to buy domestic products both as a state and as citizens. Especially when Ukrainian goods are produced in such difficult conditions
