UNESCO and Sweden allocate $1.3 million for the preservation of the "Khortytsia" National Reserve – Ministry of Culture

The Khortytsia National Reserve will receive 1.3 million US dollars for protection and restoration as part of an international project implemented with the support of UNESCO and the Ministry of Culture of Sweden. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, according to UNN.

The initiative is designed for 18 months and involves a set of measures to preserve one of Ukraine's key cultural heritage sites.

In particular, the project plans to carry out repair work in the reserve's museum premises, continue archaeological research, and develop educational and outreach programs.

Special attention will be paid to institutional development and the training of specialized professionals.

The Ministry of Culture noted that the issue of preserving historical values remains a priority in the conditions of war.

"Our main priority is the preservation of cultural values. In current conditions, it is especially important to promptly make decisions regarding their evacuation and ensuring proper storage conditions,"

– emphasized Deputy Minister of Culture Ivan Verbytskyi.

The implementation of the project was discussed during a meeting between representatives of the Ministry of Culture and the Head of the UNESCO Desk in Ukraine, Chiara Dezzi Bardeschi, and the Head of the Culture Unit, Maria Acetoso.
