Ukrenergo canceled emergency power outages, but tightened hourly restrictions

Ukraine has canceled emergency power outages after the air raid, but there will be one and two rounds of blackouts in 16 regions and Kyiv due to damaged power lines.

Today, November 21, Ukraine has canceled the emergency power outages that were introduced in the morning during the air alert. Later in the day, one and two rounds of blackouts will be in effect in 16 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv. The restrictions were temporarily tightened due to damage to power lines as a result of enemy shelling, Ukrenergo said on Thursday, UNN reports. 

"The emergency blackouts applied during the air alert have been canceled," Ukrenergo said in a statement. 

As reported, today, November 21, in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovs'k, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv regions and the city of Kyiv, the following consumption restrictions will be in effect: 

  • 08:00 - 19:00 - two rounds of outages;
  • 19:00 - 22:00 - one turn of outages. 

According to the company, the reason for the temporary increase in restrictions is the damage to transmission lines as a result of shelling

"Power engineers are working to eliminate the consequences to bring the equipment damaged by the enemy back into operation as soon as possible. Please, when the power comes back on schedule, consume electricity sparingly," Ukrenergo added.

It was reported that emergency power outages were introduced in Kyiv, Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro and Donetsk regions on the instructions of Ukrenergo  Later, they were canceled and switched to hourly ones.
