At the World Championships among athletes with hearing impairments in Turkestan (Kazakhstan), the Ukrainian judo team won 17 medals, including gold in the team event, and took first place among 15 countries.

Ukrainian para-judo athletes took first place in the team event and won 17 medals at the World Championships for athletes with hearing impairments.

This was reported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, UNN reports.

Details

In Turkestan (Kazakhstan), the Ukrainian team won 17 medals among 15 countries at the World Championships among athletes with hearing impairments and took first place in the team event.

In individual and team competitions among men and women, as well as in the Kata category, Ukrainian judokas won gold, silver and bronze.

Among the winners of the Ukrainian team were Anna Shostak (-52 kg), Sofia Volyanyuk (-57 kg), Gevorg Gevorgyan (-81 kg), Maryna Pogorelova (-70 kg), and Oksana Kravchenko (+78 kg).

In addition to individual achievements, the women's team consisting of Marina Pogorelova, Sofia Volyanyuk, Anna Shostak, Oksana Kravchenko, Kateryna Shepelyuk and Maria Bala won gold medals in the team competition.
