The crew of the SpaceX Polaris Dawn mission unfurled the flag of Ukraine with the UNITED24 logo in space at an altitude of 1400 km.

The Ukrainian flag with the UNITED24 logo was deployed in space as part of the first SpaceX Polaris Dawn tourist mission. UNN reports this with reference to the UNITED24 platform.

The trip was led by a friend of the platform and our ambassador Scott Kelly, American entrepreneur and commercial astronaut Jared Isaacson. The purely civilian crew consisted of 4 people - they unfurled the blue and yellow flag with the number 24 in the capsule of the Dragon 2 spacecraft.

During the mission, which was broadcast live in its entirety, Isaacson and SpaceX engineer Sarah Gillis took turns getting out of the capsule, performing a series of maneuvers over Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Ocean, and returning. "We know this is just one step in a much longer journey, and we're very proud to be a part of it," Jared modestly comments on his achievement, "We all have a lot of work to do back home, but from here, Earth looks like a perfect world.

Two years ago, Jared supported Scott Kelly's fundraising through UNITED24 by donating $100,000 for an ambulance. Now, thanks to him, the Ukrainian flag has traveled in an elliptical orbit to a record distance of 1400 km from Earth since the Apollo program.
