Ukraine aims to complete its "homework" for EU accession within two years, but the reform process will continue after the accession.

Ukraine will complete its "homework" on joining the European Union within two years, but the reform process will not end there. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna during a press conference, UNN reports.

My assessment remains the same. I will stand by my promises: two years to do the "homework" (on Ukraine's accession to the EU - ed.), but reforms do not end with accession. This is just the beginning. We have worked hard to get the decision to start negotiations, but in reality, there is a hundred times more work to be done

- Stefanishyna said.

She added that once Ukraine has completed its "homework" for EU accession, much will depend on the European Union and its member states.

"But it takes ten years to create sustainable institutions that have been developing for hundreds of years in some countries. So, membership and development are not the same thing, it's just the beginning," the Vice Prime Minister added.

Recall

On March 12, 13, 14, the European Commission is to decide on the presentation of the negotiation framework for Ukraine's accession to the EU.
