Lyudmyla and Nadiia Kichenko repeated their best Olympic achievement, reaching the quarterfinals.
In the semifinals, they lost to the eighth-seeded Spaniards Cristina Buxa and Sara Sorribes Tormo: 3-6, 6-2, 10-12.
Thus, Ukraine finished the tennis competition without medals.
