Following the example of New Zealand, the British parliament passed a law banning smoking for people born after 2009. The bill on tobacco products and vaping received the following support in the parliament:  383 votes in favor against 67 votes against.

Health Minister Victoria Atkins called the move a step toward creating a "smoke-free generation.

However, not all political figures unanimously support this initiative. Last week, former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, speaking at the Conservative Party conference in Canada, described the ban as "absolute nonsense.

When Winston Churchill's party wants to ban cigarettes, donnez-moi un break, as they say in Quebec, it's just crazy

- said Boris Johnson.
