Two more men drowned in the Tisza: the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine told whether they managed to identify the dead
Kyiv • UNN
Border guards have found the bodies of two men who drowned while attempting to illegally cross the border in the Tisa River, bringing the death toll to 24 since the start of the Russian invasion.
The bodies of two men were found in the Tisa River on Saturday, April 27. However, due to the rapid current in the river, they were only retrieved today. So far, it has not yet been possible to identify the dead men. This was reported by the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko during a telethon on Sunday, April 28, UNN reports.
Unfortunately, there is still no identification of the people our border patrol found in the Tisa river last night. Efforts to retrieve the victims from the river began yesterday. But due to the rapid current, it was actually possible to do this only this morning
Demchenko once again warned those trying to cross the border, especially those choosing inaccessible mountainous areas, to refrain from such trips, as it poses a threat to their lives.
"Quite often, violators turn to such criminal groups, who are promised assistance in illegal border crossing and the route is laid through a mountain river, which can again lead to death," emphasized the State Border Guard Service spokesman.
