Trump's Board of Peace has signed its first contract to build a military base in Gaza

The Gaza Board of Peace, established by U.S. President Donald Trump, has signed its first contract for the construction of a military base intended to house a Moroccan contingent of international stabilization forces. According to the publication, the contract has not yet officially taken effect, but it is planned to be concluded with the American company Arkel International from Louisiana. The base is designed for 150 troops and will become the first construction project of the Board of Peace, created to coordinate the reconstruction of Gaza.

The base is planned to be built near the border with Israel

According to The Guardian, the facility will measure approximately 100 by 120 meters and will be located about 1.5 kilometers from the Israeli border in an area controlled by Israeli troops. Moroccan military personnel are expected to serve on a rotational basis, and the base will have a route for rapid evacuation in the event of an attack.

The publication notes that the Board of Peace's initial plans envisaged the construction of a much larger military base for 5,000 service members, but the project has now been limited to a pilot phase. It was also previously reported that the large-scale plan to rebuild all of Gaza had been scaled back to the implementation of a small project in the south of the enclave.
