US President Donald Trump said he had not sent an invitation to Russian leader Vladimir Putin to the G20 summit, but believes his participation could be useful. This is reported by The Washington Post, writes UNN.

According to the publication, the US State Department noted that Trump "made it clear that Russia could be present at the G20 meetings" as Washington seeks to hold a "successful and productive summit."
At the same time, one of the US administration officials told reporters that an official invitation to Russia has not yet been sent.
Earlier, Russian officials stated that Putin allegedly received an invitation to the summit, which is to be held in Miami, but did not specify whether he would participate.
