The Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine plans to significantly expand its membership and increase the number of members to 10 million by 2030. This was stated by the head of the FPU, Serhiy Byzov, writes UNN.

"Today there are 2.4 million of us (trade union members - ed.). I am confident that in the near future, by 2030, we are setting a goal to increase our numbers to 10 million," Serhiy Byzov said in an interview on the PRO:UA YouTube channel.

He emphasized that the key task will be the transformation of the trade union movement and its conversion into a full-fledged social partner of the state. In particular, the FPU intends to more actively involve both employees who previously left trade unions and those who are not yet members.

"We will change the trade union movement. We want to dedicate our time, our lives to reforming the trade union movement, our idea and philosophy (so that the trade union - ed.) is truly a social partner of the state. We will need your help, those who are ready to fully serve in the trade union movement. I am confident that we can positively change our country if we all stick to one idea, one philosophy. And those who are disappointed in the trade union movement, I will say kindly, I have a saying that people are divided into two categories: those who are members of trade unions, and those who will become members," Serhiy Byzov noted.

He called on workers to join trade unions and support their renewal.

According to Serhiy Byzov, the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine is changing its strategy, focusing on working with the private sector and preparing for new challenges in the labor market, particularly those related to the development of artificial intelligence.

The head of the FPU said that the Federation already has the first successful cases of working in new areas for trade unions. In particular, a primary organization was created at the Rivne Amber Plant, which includes about 600 employees. In addition, negotiations are underway with representatives of large businesses regarding the involvement of their employees in the trade union movement. The FPU also cooperates with business associations in this direction, in particular with the CEO Club Ukraine.
