The United States emphasized Russia's destabilizing role in Africa after Niger severed diplomatic relations with Ukraine. The US State Department said that the presence of Russia and Wagner in the region is sowing chaos and instability.
Against the backdrop of Niger's decision to break off diplomatic relations with Ukraine, the United States emphasized that it sees Russia's destabilizing role in many African countries. This was stated by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, UNN reports.

Obviously, we have seen Russian interference in various countries in this region (West Africa - ed.). In terms of relations with Ukraine, we always believe that diplomatic relations are important, and that it's good for countries to talk to each other and to be able to resolve disputes and problems that they have - that's why diplomacy is important
According to him, the United States has seen Russia's destabilizing presence in Africa over the past few years, as well as the Wagner Group.
And we have noticed that every time Russia or the Wagner PMC comes to West Africa, to other countries, we see that they sow chaos and instability in their path
