The State Logistics Operator takes into account the results of quality inspections of food supplied to military units when planning its activities and making purchases from suppliers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"When planning its activities, the State Logistics Operator takes into account the results of unannounced inspections of the quality of food supplied to military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Vitaliy Polovenko said this in an interview with ArmyInform, UNN reports .

According to him, it is necessary to improve the food system of the Ukrainian military.

"Our military should forget about any problems with food. Therefore, such unannounced inspections will continue. We are working to improve the food supply.

We have inspectors from the Central Quality Control Department. They systematically carry out inspections in the JFO and military units.

We provide information from such inspections to the State Logistics Operator, and when they conduct procurement, they take into account the information we have provided about the company's activities: whether it has fulfilled its duties, whether it has delivered products on time, whether they were of high quality.

Our goal is to provide uninterrupted and high-quality food for our defenders," said Polovenko.

He added that when changing the food system, it is necessary to take into account both NATO's experience and Ukrainian peculiarities.

"We combine the best practices of both NATO countries and analyze the experience of our realities. Currently, the catalog contains 409 product names, but it should be noted that not all products are used.

For example, in our catalog we have fresh potatoes, early fresh potatoes, late potatoes, and frozen fries. In fact, these are the same product. To avoid such duplication, we revised the catalog.

According to my experience, when food service managers prepare a menu for a week, they use about 200 items of food. In addition, we are planning some changes to Order No. 140. They will help us to allocate budget funds more efficiently," noted the Deputy Defense Minister.

Recall

At the end of March, the supply of food to the Armed Forces began under the first contracts signed by the State Logistics Operator - in the first week, 300 trucks went to military units across Ukraine.

Subsequently, DOT refused to provide services to , one of the food suppliers to the Armed Forces under new contracts due to unsatisfactory fulfillment of its obligations. The company in question is Cherkasy Meat Processing Plant, which delivered only 25% of the required amount of food to military units in the first week. The areas with low order fulfillment rates were distributed among other suppliers.
