On the night of May 17, air defense forces destroyed 279 out of 287 drones launched by the enemy. Eight hits and falling debris were recorded in seven locations.

On the night of May 17, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 287 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (including jet-powered ones), Gerbera, Italmas, and "Parody" type decoy drones. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Details
The enemy launched drones from the Russian cities of Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 08:00, air defense shot down/suppressed 279 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as "Parody" type decoy drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
At the same time, hits by 8 strike UAVs were recorded at 7 locations, as well as falling debris at 7 locations.
