The real estate expert told us in which countries Ukrainians most often buy apartments
Kyiv • UNN
According to the real estate expert, Ukrainians most often buy apartments in Turkey and Spain. Ukrainians also invest in housing in Cyprus.
Apartments in Turkey and Spain are in the greatest demand among Ukrainians. This opinion was expressed by real estate expert Olena Birovchak in an exclusive commentary to UNN.
"Most often people buy (apartments - ed.) in Turkey and Spain. Then comes Bali, the Czech Republic. This is what is most in demand among Ukrainians today," Birovchak said.
In addition, according to the expert, Ukrainians are also investing in housing in Cyprus, mainly in apartments built by Turkish developers.
According to her, Ukrainians buy apartments in Turkey mainly during pre-sales, when new houses have not yet been put into operation and the price of housing is lower. Such apartments are sold out in three months.
"That is, there is a great demand there, so it is interesting for our depositors. I would even say that Turkey is in the lead today," added Birovchak.
She added that affordable housing is in the greatest demand in Turkey, and requests to buy large and expensive villas are very rare. Birovchak clarified that on the secondary market, apartments in Turkey can be purchased for $90 thousand, and the average price is usually $130-200 thousand.
In Europe, she says, housing is more expensive. For example, an apartment in Spain will cost 150-250 thousand euros.
At the same time, according to Birovchak, the number of Ukrainians buying homes abroad after Russia's large-scale invasion has not increased much and remains almost at the same level as it was before February 24, 2022.
Recall
Earlier, Olena Sosiedka, co-founder of Ukraine's first fintech ecosystem Concord Fintech Solutions, told UNN where it is better to buy apartments abroad and what to look for when buying. She noted that investing in foreign real estate can provide asset diversification, price growth potential, and the possibility of obtaining a residence permit or citizenship.
In Ukraine, according to Sosiedka, small apartments are in demand, and real estate prices in large cities remain stable. The expert noted that real estate investments can be profitable in the long run, but renting a home can provide psychological comfort.
