The Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games was held on water for the first time - the Seine River in Paris. More than 10,000 athletes from 206 countries took part in the 6 km long parade.
The opening ceremony of this year's Summer Olympics took place in Paris, officially kicking off the world's largest sporting event. This year, the ceremony is being held on the water for the first time, instead of the usual stadium. This was reported by UNN with reference to the organizers of the Olympics.

Instead of the usual highway, the Seine River in Paris became the road for the opening of the Olympic Games. Instead, the embankments serve as stands. The parade and live show organized in Paris is 6 kilometers long. Almost a hundred giant screens were installed along the Seine. And 85 boats were used to transport all the delegations along the river.
The Summer Olympics in Paris will run from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
Tennis player Elina Svitolina and swimmer Mykhailo Romanchuk will carry the Ukrainian flag at the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Paris.
Lady Gaga also performed at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.
According to the official website of the Olympics, more than 10,000 athletes representing 206 national Olympic committees are taking part in the opening ceremony, the route is about 6 km, and the final show will take place on Trocadero Square.
The entire event should take approximately 4 hours.
