Law enforcers have submitted more than 2,000 cases of questionable disability to the Ministry of Health, of which 1,000 have already been reviewed.
Disability was canceled for 188 people. In total, law enforcement officers handed over more than 2,000 cases of questionable disability to the Ministry of Health. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Health, Viktor Lyashko, during a telethon, UNN reports.
"Law enforcement agencies have already handed over more than 2,000 cases to us, we have already reviewed almost 1,000, and disability has already been canceled for 188 people," the minister said.
Currently, 388 people involved in these cases have been summoned to a specialized research institute for re-examination.
The Minister reminded that medical and social expert commissions will suspend their activities as separate legal entities from January 1, 2025.
"When we talk about the global reform of medical and social expertise, we have taken this part of the medical expertise and have already reformed it. This is the first step of the global reform. Next, we expect more reforms to be introduced by the social side, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Education, and then the pool of assessing human functioning, identifying the needs that people have for the loss of their functionality and what compensations the state can offer, will be completely closed," the head of the Ministry of Health said and added that the medical system is ready to eliminate the MSEC.
Recall
On December 19, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a draft law on the liquidation of medical and sanitary expert commissions. The MSECs are to cease operations as early as January 1.
