Kyiv • UNN
Latvia is planning to auction off a land plot in Riga and the Moscow House located on it, which previously belonged to the government of the Russian capital, and use the proceeds to support Ukraine.
The Latvian government has decided to sell the land plot in the center of Riga, where the House of Moscow is located, which previously belonged to the government of the Russian capital and was nationalized by the decision of the Saeima. This was reported by LSM, according to UNN.
The House of Moscow and the land plot will be transferred to the Ministry of Finance, which will allow Valsts nekustamie īpašumi to sell the property at auction. The value of the land plot is EUR 517,083, and the value of the building is EUR 2,348,340,
Details
It is noted that the funds received at the auction (after deducting administrative expenses) are planned to be transferred to support Ukraine, so special amendments to the law will be submitted to the Sejm. The newspaper suggested that the building will not be sold quickly, which is why the deal may not take place in 2024.
Recall
The Latvian Saeima has voted to nationalize Riga's House of Moscow, citing a threat to national security from political events held there under the guise of culture.
