The head of one of the territorial service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Chernihiv region is suspected of setting up a corruption scheme to take bribes from subordinate administrators. The court arrested him with the possibility of bail in the amount of UAH 1 million, which was immediately paid. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Internal Security Department of the National Police and its own sources.
As UNN has learned from its own sources, this is Oleksandr Poltorak.
"As it turned out, he personally managed the corruption processes of the institution - he agreed on the amount of money for the purchase of driver's licenses and gave instructions to which employees and how much money should be given to future drivers. But the defendant's activities did not end there. He forced his subordinate administrators to take undue advantage of future drivers, and if they refused to comply with corrupt orders, they risked being fired. The manager was to be given money for each successful theoretical and practical driving test," the report says.
It is reported that operatives of the Department of Internal Security detained the offender immediately after handing him UAH 10 thousand, another illegal benefit.
The First Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, Andriy Svatok , reported on his Facebook page that the head of one of the territorial service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Chernihiv region was notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and a preventive measure in the form of detention with an alternative of bail in the amount of one million hryvnias was chosen.
According to sources of UNN, Poltorak was immediately released on bail in the amount of UAH 1 million, and he had 100 thousand on him and called it "pocket" money.
