The Government has strengthened control over state contracts in the field of defense procurement

The Government has amended the procedure for using funds for defense procurement by the State Enterprise “State Logistics Operator”. The innovations will strengthen control over budget funds and optimize financial flows.
The Cabinet of Ministers has amended the procedure for using funds for defense procurement by the State Logistics Operator. This was reported by UNN with reference to the government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.
Amendments to the Procedure for the Use of Funds Provided for in the State Budget for Defense Procurement by the State Enterprise of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine "State Logistics Operator"
According to him, these changes:
- will strengthen control over the use of budget funds allocated for prepayment under state defense contracts;
- reduce the risks of misuse of funds through the use of non-budget accounts and the mandatory provision of supporting documents;
- increase transparency of interaction between suppliers, contractors and public procuring entities;
- optimize financial flows by centralizing the movement of funds on non-budgetary accounts, which allows for more prompt control by government agencies;
- will provide guarantees of compliance of budget expenditures with legislative requirements and requirements for the protection of national security.
