The Cabinet of ministers has updated the rules for granting grants for the creation of orchards, berry fields and vineyards. The changes expand opportunities for winemakers and eliminate the mandatory installation of irrigation for grapes.
The government has changed the procedure for granting grants for the creation of horticulture, berry growing and viticulture, as well as the procedure for granting grants for the creation or development of greenhouses, changing the relevant resolutions. According to Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky, the changes are aimed at improving the work of winemakers and restoring the grape and wine industry.
Viticulture is a key industry that is currently stagnating. Therefore, understanding these conditions, we have updated the procedure for granting grants. The changes will help winemakers integrate into the grape vertical. They will be able to use grants to plant their own vineyards. We have also eliminated the mandatory requirement to install an irrigation and water intake system for grapes
The changes include, in particular:
- expanding the list of regions for growing stone fruits. Increase in the total area for planting peaches, apricots, sea buckthorn, raspberries, currants, gooseberries, blackberries, currants by reducing the total area of plantings under blueberries and blueberries;
- specify the period during which the garden grant recipient is required to create the appropriate number of seasonal jobs;
- exclusion of the requirement to install an irrigation system and water intake for grapes.
This resolution also expanded the range of potential recipients of garden and greenhouse grants, in particular, those who are located and carry out economic activities in the territories of active military operations where State Electronic Information Resources operate, or carry out the production (without adding alcohol) and/or sale of grape wines, fruit and berry wines, honey drinks.
