Oleg Popenko, a housing and utilities expert, spoke about the difficulties of installing solar panels on the facades and balconies of high-rise buildings. He supports the use of panels in private homes and businesses.
The problem with installing solar panels on the facades and balconies of high-rise buildings is their mounting and connection to the power grid. They are not adapted to mount solar panels on them. This was reported to UNN by Oleh Popenko, an expert on housing, tariffs and utilities, chairman of the Union of Consumers of Utilities, .
I have a lot of questions about projects to install solar panels in apartment buildings, such as at 16 Mykola Bazhana Avenue, where almost a million euros were invested in solar panels, but they have not started working there
Popenko noted that he is very skeptical about installing solar panels in his apartment.
I would not install solar panels for apartments at all
Popenko spoke about the challenges of installing solar panels on building facades and balconies.
On facades and balconies, the problem is fixing them and connecting them to the power grid. Because neither balconies nor facades are suitable for mounting solar panels on them. For example, in strong winds and with poor fastening, they can come off, and indeed with any fastening. Secondly, any fastening on the facades of buildings, on balconies, is a violation of the standards of improvement. Such projects must be coordinated with the landscaping

Popenko noted that he supports the installation of solar panels in private homes.
As for private houses, I absolutely support it, it's the right thing to do. Most private houses have the opportunity (to install solar panels - ed.). Probably, the state should support people in private houses in installing solar panels
In addition, Popenko believes that the use of solar panels is absolutely appropriate for businesses.
I believe that companies that will equip their own offices with solar panels, for example, are absolutely right to do so. They will benefit in this regard, because they will invest their own funds in energy efficiency. They can invest not only in solar panels but also in batteries and energy storage. This will really help businesses in case of long-term outages
