The European Union's internal cyber team stated that the hacker group ShinyHunters was behind the recent attack on the European Commission's cloud infrastructure. This was reported in a CERT-EU statement on April 2, writes UNN.

According to CERT-EU, during the breach, attackers stole personal data, including names, email addresses, and email content. The EU also reported that the stolen materials were subsequently published on a darknet resource linked to ShinyHunters. The published archive, according to European experts, amounted to about 91.7 GB in compressed form or 340 GB uncompressed.

The European Commission previously confirmed that the cyberattack affected the cloud infrastructure of the Europa.eu platform, but the institution's internal systems, according to preliminary data, were not compromised. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The group has already been linked to other high-profile hacks
