EU opens another negotiation cluster for Ukraine's accession

The EU officially opened Cluster 6 "External Relations" in the accession negotiations with Ukraine. Deputy Prime Minister Kachka stated that this confirms progress and Ukraine's integration into the EU.

The EU officially opens the sixth negotiation cluster for Ukraine's accession, reported Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Taras Kachka on Tuesday on X, writes UNN.

"With Ukraine and Moldova, we are opening cluster 6, covering areas such as defense and security, where the arguments in favor of their EU membership are particularly strong," said EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos earlier today.
"We welcome today's opening of cluster 6 'External Relations' within the IIGC on Ukraine's EU accession negotiations," also stated Ukraine's Ambassador to the EU Vsevolod Chentsov on social media.
It concerns the cluster "External Relations," which covers foreign policy, security and defense, trade, humanitarian aid, and development cooperation.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized: "This cluster reflects what is already a reality: Ukraine and the EU work side by side every day in the areas of foreign policy, security and defense, trade, humanitarian aid, and development cooperation. We are moving forward on merit, without exceptions, Ukraine is ready and expects to open all other clusters soon. Grateful to all 27 member states and partners for their unwavering support."

On June 15, the EU opened the first negotiation cluster - "Fundamentals," which marked the beginning of the practical stage of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
