EU imposed new sanctions on Russia over intensification of Russian strikes on Ukraine - who is on the list

The EU has introduced new sanctions lists targeting five individuals involved in Russia’s military-industrial complex in response to a series of airstrikes on Ukraine. They include the heads of plants that produce missiles for Russian forces.
The European Union has strengthened sanctions against Russia in response to the recent series of Russian airstrikes on Ukraine; those involved in Russia’s military-industrial complex were included on the list, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said on Friday, UNN reports.

"With Moscow’s army stuck on the battlefield, it continues to escalate its campaign of terror against civilians. The EU must continue to increase pressure on Russia until Moscow ends the war," she stressed.
As reported by the Council of the EU, "in response to Russia’s continued aggression against Ukraine and its intensification of strikes deliberately targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure, the Council of the EU today adopted additional restrictive measures against five individuals responsible for supporting Russia’s military-industrial complex in the context of its ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine."
The individuals in question, it is noted, "hold senior positions in Russian companies operating in the defense and military technology sectors, including through the development, production or supply of military technologies and equipment used by Russia’s armed forces in its war of aggression against Ukraine."
"Among those listed is Ramil Nailevich Badhgutdinov, general director of OJSC Serpukhov Plant "Metalist," a company engaged in the production of precision electromechanical components, including systems used in Russia’s Iskander-M ballistic missile.
The Council of the EU also listed Alexander Yurievich Dyukarev, general director of OJSC Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant, a company engaged in the production of ballistic missiles, including the RS-28 Sarmat missile system.
Among the other individuals listed are directors of Russian companies involved in the production of military communications systems and the development of software for unmanned aerial vehicles and space military technologies," the Council of the EU said.
Today’s sanctions listings, it is reported, were adopted under EU restrictive measures targeting actions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Individuals listed under this sanctions regime are subject to an asset freeze, and the provision of funds or economic resources to them, directly or indirectly, or for their benefit, is prohibited. In addition, individuals listed are subject to a travel ban to the EU.
The relevant legal acts were published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
