The United Kingdom has tightened sanctions against Russia: 19 new entities have been targeted. They include banks, companies and the "shadow fleet," UNN reports, citing the UK Foreign Office.

Details

The sanctions target:

  • 6 Russian banks, including Ozon Bank, Roseximbank, Center-Invest, Realist Bank, Stavr Bank and TelePort Bank;
    • 6 companies, including Novatek's shipbuilding "subsidiary" Severny Engineering, as well as the Indian company Frion Ship Management, which sold the LNG tanker Arctic Express to Russia;
      • 6 "shadow fleet" vessels, including Arctic Express and the oil tankers Perseas, Torvian, Asteras, Visund and Zenturo.

        Oleksandr Zhdanov, the owner of the company Siltron, which operates in Russia's chemical sector, has also been subjected to restrictions. His assets will be frozen, and he will be banned from entering the United Kingdom.

        Let us remind you

        The EU proposes introducing sanctions against more than 1,600 companies that are helping Russia in its war against Ukraine. This would be the largest package of sanctions, increasing the number of sanctioned organizations by 50%.
