The email system of the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has been hacked. Attackers gained unauthorized access to confidential information.

The emails of executives and other employees of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) were hacked, the US Congress was informed of the violation.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), which is part of the US Department of the Treasury, has informed Congress of a serious breach in its email system.
The breach is related to unauthorized access to highly sensitive information regarding the financial condition of federally regulated financial institutions.
The regulator said it first learned of the hack on February 11 and released information about the incident, opening a new tab about two weeks later.
In response to the incident, the OCC announced the start of a comprehensive review of the organization's current cybersecurity measures. The purpose of this assessment is to strengthen the ability to prevent, detect and eliminate potential future security breaches.
