The HACC arrested a lawyer suspected in the case of illegal departure of conscripts abroad. The court set bail at UAH 9.084 million as an alternative to detention.

The High Anti-Corruption Court has arrested a lawyer who is a suspect in the case of setting up a criminal scheme to illegally travel abroad for men of military age to avoid mobilization, with an alternative of UAH 9.084 million bail. UNN reports this with reference to the SAPO.

"On August 1, 2024, the HACC investigating judge upheld the position of the SAPO prosecutor and imposed a preventive measure on the lawyer involved in the case," the statement said.

It is reported that the court granted the motion of the NABU detectives, agreed upon by the prosecutor, and imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention with an alternative of UAH 9.084 million bail.

Law enforcement officers exposed a large-scale scheme to organize the illegal departure of men of military age from the country and avoid mobilization. There are already six suspects in the case.

In Odesa region , an official of the State Migration Service was detained who tried to organize the illegal transportation of persons liable for military service to Moldova. He demanded USD 10 thousand from each client for his services.
