In Ivano-Frankivsk, Hvardiyska Street will be renamed in honor of linguist and politician Iryna Farion, a decision was made at a city council session.

“The name of the street will be changed in memory of Iryna Farion. We also propose to hold book fairs with local writers and poets, thus popularizing the Ukrainian word. We urge everyone who can, especially shops and any private entrepreneurs, to communicate exclusively in Ukrainian when providing services and to encourage all residents of Ivano-Frankivsk to do so,” said Olga Shendryk, deputy director of the city council's education and science department.
