Some of them are already taking part in the fighting in the war in Ukraine, South Korean lawmaker Lee Song-kwon said on Wednesday, citing the country's spy agency. In response to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's remarks that the number of North Korean troops stationed in Russia could rise to 100,000, Lee quoted the country's National Intelligence Service (NIS) as saying that, although unconfirmed, if the current fighting drags on and there are casualties, North Korea could send more troops.
The spy agency is reportedly still trying to determine the exact number of North Korean troop casualties and whether they surrendered, the lawmaker said.
Also, according to him, North Korea has sent additional weapons for the war in Ukraine, including self-propelled howitzers and multiple launch rocket systems.

According to another member of the parliamentary intelligence committee, Park Soon-won, citing NIS, North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Song-hui's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin during her visit to Moscow this month was unusual in terms of protocol and likely went beyond exchanging greetings to cover more important issues, including a possible visit to Russia by Kim Jong-un.
