On Thursday, during an interview on Polish Radio's First Programme, Sikorski was asked about remarks by former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, leader of the Law and Justice party "Development Plus," who recently said that he did not consent to the transfer of another batch of missiles for Patriot batteries to Ukraine and that the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) should "perhaps" be dissolved.
Speaking about missiles for the Patriot systems, Sikorski noted that "ballistic missiles, against which there is currently no defense, have been flying at Kyiv for several days in a row," and are "killing people in ever greater numbers."
"The question of whether we can be certain that it would be better to shoot down these Russian missiles over Ukraine rather than, perhaps, later over Poland is a matter for very serious discussion, which must not become hostage to rivalry between parties," the deputy prime minister said.
