Ukraine aims to start EU accession talks by the end of June, first by agreeing to open three chapters related to agriculture, according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
Ukraine is talking to the leaders of EU member states about the need for negotiations on accession to the European Union to take place by the end of June. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a telethon, a UNN correspondent reports.
"In fact, the decision to negotiate was made by the European Council. Today, we are negotiating a concrete physical start to the negotiation process," Shmyhal said.
He noted that it was agreed that, in addition to the fundamental sections, three sections related to the agricultural sector would be opened first.
"Of course, we say that this should happen in the first half of the year, by the end of June. We are talking about this with the leaders of the EU member states. We have talked about this with all the leaders of European institutions - it is important for us," Shmyhal said.
