Seven Chinese nationals were arrested in Guam for trespassing near military installations during a US missile defense test. The detainees arrived on one boat from Saipan, four of whom were near a military base.

Seven Chinese nationals were arrested on charges of illegal entry into Guam around the time the U.S. Missile Defense Agency was conducting tests to intercept missiles using a new radar. This was stated by the Customs and Quarantine Administration of Guam, according to Reuters, UNN reports.

The agency claims that at least four of those arrested on December 10-11 were "near a military installation." Guam has many such installations, including Andersen Air Force Base, where a missile test was conducted on December 10.

The United States plans to create an air and missile defense network at 16 sites around Guam to deter any missile attack on the island. The plan aims to integrate the most advanced American missile defense systems and radars, and its implementation could cost up to ten billion dollars.
