Illegal construction work is being carried out on the territory of the Velyke Khodosivske settlement to build a cottage community. The head of the Kyiv RMA filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office regarding the destruction of an archaeological site of national importance.
Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of the Kyiv RMA, has filed a criminal complaint with the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office in connection with the destruction of an ancient archaeological monument of national importance, the Velykyi Khodosivske settlement, known as the Snake Vales of Kyiv region. He announced this on his Facebook page, UNN reports .
In the Kyiv region, a systematic and insidious destruction of an ancient archaeological monument of national importance - the Velykyi Khodosiv settlement (IX century BC - IV century), also known as the Snake Vales of the Kyiv region, is taking place
According to him, illegal excavation and construction work is being carried out on the territory of the monument without the appropriate permits and approvals from the cultural heritage protection authorities: pits are being dug, and the landscape is being destroyed.
“It has been recorded that in the protected zone of the monument, at a distance of about 10-15 meters from the ramparts, there are houses built in previous years. According to the plan of unscrupulous developers, it is planned to build a cottage town here,” said the head of the RMA,
Kravchenko pointed out that the Kyiv RSA and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the CRSA have repeatedly conducted a visual inspection of the ramparts and informed the Office of the Prosecutor General and the Ministry of Culture. And in May of this year, the Department of Culture and Tourism of the CRSA additionally appealed to the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office with a report of damage to the monument.
“The Kyiv RSA unequivocally supports the creation of nature reserve sites in the region, and therefore it is a matter of principle for us to protect the archaeological site of national importance.
The Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the CRSA also sent materials regarding the construction on the territory of the monument to the State Inspectorate of Architecture and Urban Planning of Ukraine for action within its powers.
In order to stop the destruction of the Velyke Khodosivske settlement and identify those involved in the destruction of the monument, yesterday I personally sent a statement of a criminal offense to the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office. Law enforcement officers must investigate this situation within the framework of criminal proceedings and bring all those responsible to justice,” Kravchenko wrote.
