According to the newspaper, citing sources in the Azerbaijani government, a Russian surface-to-air missile caused the crash of an Azerbaijani Airlines plane in Aktau, Kazakhstan.
“The missile was fired at Flight 8432 during an unmanned aerial vehicle attack over Grozny, and its debris struck passengers and crew, exploding next to the plane in mid-flight. The damaged plane was not allowed to land at Russian airports, despite the pilots' requests for an emergency landing, and was ordered to fly over the Caspian Sea near Aktau in Kazakhstan. According to the data received, the aircraft's GPS navigation systems were jammed throughout the flight over the sea,” the sources said.

The Baza telegram channel reported that the crashed Embraer 190 had been flying for more than 50 minutes with control systems that failed.
Earlier it was known that the front part of the Embraer collapsed and caught fire, but the tail section remained intact.
The flight data recorder of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane was found at the crash site in Kazakhstan. Authorities also reported that there were no Kazakhs among the survivors, there were six of them.
At the crash site near Aktau, traces of shrapnel-like damage are found. Criminalists and civil aviation experts are investigating, questioning witnesses and analyzing the black box.
The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, stated that an Embraer 190 plane of the Azerbaijani airline flying from the capital Baku to Grozny, Russia, was shot down by a Russian air defense system because Russia did not close the airspace over the city.
