"The Vienna Convention clearly defines the duties of an ambassador in the host country," Vronsky said, adding that Andreev had not reported to the Polish Foreign Ministry.
Speaking about Andreev's failure to show up at the Polish Foreign Ministry headquarters despite being summoned by the Foreign Ministry, Vronsky emphasized that the Polish side "wonders whether the ambassador is following the instructions of the Foreign Ministry in Moscow and whether he is able to properly represent the interests of Russia in Warsaw.
"The Polish Foreign Ministry's diplomatic note on the violation of Polish airspace will be sent to the Russian Foreign Ministry in another way," Wronski added.
The note is to be sent directly to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Addendum
Russian Ambassador Sergei Andreev was summoned to the Polish Foreign Ministry after a Russian cruise missile violated Polish airspace on the morning of March 24 during a missile strike by Russia on Ukraine and remained over Poland for 39 seconds near Osierdow.
Already on March 24, the Polish Foreign Ministry said that Poland would "demand explanations from Russia" in connection with another violation of the country's airspace.
Because of the incident, Poland raised a pair of fighter jets into the air and monitored the missile's flight.
Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosińiak-Kamysz assured that if the missile flies to the target in Poland, it will be shot down.
The most serious incident involving a Russian missile over Poland after February 24, 2022, the newspaper writes, occurred in December 2022, when, during a massive Russian missile strike on Ukraine, a Russian X-555 missile flew over Poland and crashed in a forest near Bydgoszcz. It was found only a few months later by a random person.
In November 2022, a rocket exploded in the village of Pshevoduv, Hrubeshiv County, during a Ukrainian air defense response to another Russian air attack on Ukraine. The explosion killed two people.
