A resident of Kyiv region will be tried for selling tobacco products without excise tax stamps worth almost UAH 2 million.
A resident of Kyiv region will be tried for trafficking in tobacco products with an estimated value of almost UAH 2 million. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine.
Details
An indictment was sent to the court in connection with illegal trade in tobacco products. The investigation established that a resident of Kyiv region organized the supply of tobacco products without excise stamps.
Detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security conducted searches and seized excisable goods with an estimated value of almost UAH 2 million. According to the SBU, the counterfeit goods were sold through retail outlets in Pereiaslav.
The organizer of the scheme was served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation with intent to sell excisable goods).
