According to the SBU, a collaborator in the occupied Crimea recruited local schoolchildren to the Russian military organization Unarmia, turning them against Ukraine and teaching them combat tactics.

The Security Service of Ukraine has documented the crimes of collaborator Serhiy Selimov, former head of the occupation "youth policy committee" in the temporarily occupied Crimea. This was reported by the press service of the SBU, UNN reports .

While in his "position", the defendant carried out the Kremlin's instructions to massively recruit local schoolchildren into the Russian military organization Unarmia,

Details

For this purpose, Selimov headed the Crimean "branch of the Junior Army", which prepares recruited children for war against Ukraine. Within the walls of the occupation institution, Russian instructors ideologically indoctrinate schoolchildren against Ukraine and teach them combat tactics, as well as conduct firearms and sabotage and reconnaissance training for students.

In the spring of 2022, Selimov was transferred to the "personnel reserve" of Gauleiter Aksyonov, as well as to another area of subversive activity against Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the defendant became one of the Kremlin's local "mouthpieces" publicly supporting Putin in the aggressive war. To spread pro-Kremlin narratives, the collaborator repeatedly appeared before RosTV cameras and posted "author's" posts on his own VKontakte page.

Based on the evidence gathered, SBU investigators served Selimov a notice of suspicion in absentia under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine

  • ч. 1 Art. 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine)
  • ч. 6 of Art. 111-1 (collaboration);
  • ч. 3 of Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition of the legitimacy, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

Since the offender is in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, comprehensive measures are being taken to bring him to justice.
