The issue of choosing a measure of restraint against the official, whose actions, according to the investigation, led to losses of more than UAH 3.5 million to the Ukrainian budget, is being decided.

According to the investigation, the director of one of the departments of the Dnipro City Council, when purchasing generators for the needs of the military, “deliberately failed to ensure the proper and efficient use of budget funds.
He purchased the equipment at deliberately inflated prices. The purchase of generators was carried out in pursuance of the “Program to Promote the Territorial Defense of the City of Dnipro 2022-2026”, the Prosecutor General's Office explains.
As a result of the suspect's illegal actions, the local budget suffered more than UAH 3.5 million in losses, investigators say.
As of now, the issue of choosing a measure of restraint is being decided on the fact of embezzlement of another's property by abuse of office (Part 4 and Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
