According to Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder, U.S. assistance to Ukraine is intended to help it defend its sovereign territory and regain it, and the United States is not providing any assistance for use beyond that.

Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder, in response to a question about the strikes on Russian oil refineries, said that US assistance to Ukraine is intended to help it defend its sovereign territory and regain it, and that the United States does not provide any assistance for use beyond that. He said this at a briefing on April 4, UNN reports.

The assistance that we're providing to Ukraine is intended for them to defend their sovereign territory and - and to take back their sovereign territory. We don't provide any assistance for use outside of that. I'd refer you to Ukraine to talk about their operations. Certainly, our focus is on making sure that they can defend themselves

Ryder said in response to a question about whether the Pentagon has spoken to Ukraine about strikes on Russian refineries and whether they are supported.

When asked for clarification, the Pentagon spokesman said that "e have frequent conversations with our Ukrainian counterpart - counterparts on a variety of topics, so."
