The United States continues to develop hypersonic weapons programs. Recent tests have provided data on the effectiveness of long-range hypersonic weapons, said US Defense Department spokesman General Patrick Ryder at a briefing on July 16, UNN reports.
With regard to hypersonics, we will continue to develop a number of hypersonic technology programs and will strive to accelerate the development and testing of these programs
He also said that flight tests of a hypersonic missile from the Pacific Missile Range in Hawaii have recently been completed. According to him, this test provided data on the effectiveness of long-range hypersonic weapons.
For security reasons, Ryder did not go into details about the upcoming tests. However, he said that the United States remains committed to developing hypersonic capabilities that support the national defense strategy.
"I would say that this test marked a step forward for these programs. And I'll just leave it at that," the Defense Ministry spokesman added.
