National Guard officer who shot his colleagues in Dnipro is sentenced to life imprisonment

A National Guard soldier who shot dead 4 colleagues and wounded 5 others at a factory in Dnipro in January 2022 was sentenced to life in prison for murder, attempted murder, weapons theft, desertion, and other charges.
A conscript soldier of the National Guard who shot his coworkers at the Pivdenmash plant in Dnipro in January 2022 was sentenced to life imprisonment. This was reported on Tuesday by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, UNN reports.

The court found the national guard guilty of violating the statutory rules of relations, murder and attempted murder of two or more persons, stealing weapons, desertion, as well as violating the statutory rules of guard service and illegal handling of weapons (Article 406, part 3, subpara. 1, 8, 9, part 2, Article 115, part 2, Article 15, paras. 1, 8, 9 of Part 2 of Article 115, Part 3 of Article 410, Part 3 of Article 408, Part 2 of Article 418, Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The National Guard officer was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Reportedly, on January 27, 2022, the serviceman was included in the guard guarding the territory of the state enterprise "Production Association Yuzhny Machine-Building Plant named after A.M. Makarov" in Dnipro.
At night, he stole a weapon from a gun shop and opened fire. The shooting killed four of his colleagues and an employee of the company. Five other National Guard members received injuries of varying severity.
After committing the crime, the shooter fled from the place of service, taking his weapon with him.
He was soon detained by law enforcement officers.
In court, the convict pleaded guilty to the charges. He was waiting for the court's verdict in custody.
