More than 2,000 cultural infrastructure facilities and at least 1,086 cultural heritage sites have been damaged or destroyed as a result of Russian aggression in Ukraine.

In Ukraine, at least 1086 cultural heritage sites were damaged or completely destroyed as a result of Russian aggression. In addition, more than 2,000 cultural infrastructure facilities were also damaged or destroyed. This was reported by Lina Doroshenko, a representative of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, during a telethon, according to a correspondent of UNN.

Russia is deliberately destroying our cultural heritage, our culture. If we are talking about the data of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, then as of today we are not talking about dozens of monuments. As of today, we are talking about at least 1086 cultural heritage sites that have been damaged or completely destroyed as a result of the aggression. In addition, more than 2,000 cultural infrastructure facilities, including museums and club events, have also been damaged or destroyed, i.e., suffered losses. That is, the damage is measured in thousands of objects,

- Doroshenko said.

She also said that UNESCO had placed 25 Ukrainian cultural heritage sites under enhanced protection.

If we are talking about monuments that have the status of UNESCO, that have the status of national importance, we managed, with the help of international partners, to bring 25 sites under enhanced protection last year,

- Doroshenko said.
