The European Parliament refuses to "release" the budget of the EU Council until a decision is made to provide Ukraine with additional Patriot missile defense systems.
MEP Guy Verhofstadt said on Thursday that the European Parliament refuses to discharge the budget of the EU Council until a decision is made to support Ukraine with additional Patriot systems, UNN reports.

His proposal was greeted with applause during a meeting of the European Parliament.
After the MEPs voted in favor of the proposal, the chairman spoke about the number of votes: "I believe it's more than the number required."
According to Ansa, the request, approved with 515 votes in favour, 62 against and 20 abstentions, presented by Verhofstadt before the start of the voting procedures on the text 'Discharge 2022: general budget of the EU' was approved by a large majority.
