Le Pen is suspected of having created a system of remuneration in the amount of 21 thousand euros for her assistants, which were allocated monthly from the EU funds to each MP to pay for parliamentary assistants. It is estimated that Le Pen sent 6.8 million euros to her associates between 2009 and 2017.
The court will also decide whether her 95-year-old father will be able to prepare his defense and attend the trial. The hearings will be held three times a week in the afternoon from Monday to Wednesday.
