2006 World Champions with the Italian national team Andrea Pirlo and Marco Materazzi will attend the Russian Cup Superfinal at the Luzhniki Stadium. The former footballers will be guests at the match between Spartak and Krasnodar, the Russian Football Union reports, as cited by UNN.

According to the RFU, more than 650 teams across 50 football pitches will gather on May 24 at the Luzhniki Olympic Complex to demonstrate their skills and passion for the game as part of Football Day.
One of the key events of the day will be a gala match in which world-famous footballers will play against 100 children, followed by autograph sessions. Football fans will have a unique opportunity to meet legends: World Champions with the Italian national team Andrea Pirlo and Marco Materazzi, as well as other famous athletes
The RFU also added that "the culmination of the grand football evening will be the FONBET Russian Cup Superfinal, featuring Moscow's Spartak and Krasnodar."

Marco Materazzi and Andrea Pirlo are legends of the Italian national team who won gold at the 2006 World Cup, defeating France in a penalty shootout.
In addition to the goals, that final is remembered for French midfielder Zinedine Zidane's headbutt to Materazzi's chest.
Between 2001 and 2006, Andrea Pirlo played alongside Andriy Shevchenko at AC Milan, winning numerous trophies, including the Champions League in 2003.
Marco Materazzi has previously traveled to Moscow, specifically in 2024, when he was a guest in a streaming service's TV studio ahead of the Euro 2024 knockout stages and attended a friendly match of Dynamo Moscow.
